The Griffin interviews ECC coordinator Ms. Maya on Thursday, December 11th. Upon arriving to the room of Mrs. Maya it was clear as day that her schedule was jam packed, students surrounded her and were ecstatic to flaunt their favorite stories. With two simple knocks and some swift greetings, The Griffin journalist were able to pull out the ECC coordinator for an interview concerning her views on the workload difference between elementary and below teachers versus a middle or high school teacher. According to Mrs. Maya there is not a more difficult job between high school and middle school professors instead "Middle and high school teachers have a lot of work to do grading wise while ECC teachers also have work but inclined towards in school developments, such as helping kids. However ECC teachers don't have to worry about grading assignments when arriving home and instead could use this time for leisure activities." BY YSHMAEL HERMOSO
ECC shows its holiday spirit
Kindergarten had a holiday-themed assembly on Wednesday, December 10th. Parents, family and friends were invited to this event. The Kindergarten class opened the assembly with a sweet little gift to their parents. They were wrapped with gift-wrapping paper, informing the parents that they are the biggest presents and ended their sweet little surprise by singing “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.”
The parents were also engaged by singing with the students from Pre- K to Grade 5. They sang two karaoke songs, “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”. The Grade 5 boys danced, as did the girls. The Pre- K class missed no opportunity to woo the audience with their cute little dance moves to “I am the Happiest Christmas Tree”. The best part for the kids was when Mr. Gibson with his Santa hat read the story ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas for the kids. The parents and kids loved the assembly and were in the Holiday spirit.
