| Every year Learning Unlimited is invited to participate in the annual inter-scholastic swim meet hosted by Carib Swim Team, and Caribbean Gems. On Sunday, January 25th, LU (Learning Unlimited) along with several other high schools on the island gathered at the Carib Swim team pool in Cole bay for a day full of swimming festivities. The swimmers gathered at the pool at 8:15AM to begin warm ups that included several laps of freestyle, and practicing swimming drills. After about an hour of warm ups, swimmers were given a brief demonstration on how to properly enter the pool. At around 10 o’clock the races were about to begin, and the stadium began to buzz with anxious swimmers, and supporters. The races began, and without failure LU dominated the pool with it’s fast individual, and relay swimmers. The day ended with almost all of the Leaning Unlimited Swimmers going home with medals, and the school walking away with the over all title of 3rd place. According to Mr. Beaupethuy, head of Physical Education, at LU, the Learning Unlimited swim team is working on scheduling regular practices throughout the year. |
